Volunteer car drivers

Volunteers deliver 35% of our individual transport throughout the Causeway Coast & Glens area ensuring our charitable services are maximised and allow a greater social return within our sector.  We strive to involve volunteers in our effort to reduce isolation, social exclusion and drive positive change in our community.

The role of a volunteer car driver is to assist the delivery of transport services within North Coast Community Transport using their own vehicle.  All out of pocket expenses including mileage are reimbursed to the driver.  This is a very relaxed and flexible role and allows those with a few spare hours in the week to give back to the community at the same time getting to meet new people and experience the great work carried out by our organisation.

If you are interested and wish to learn more about this role, please get in contact.

“The real reward for doing what I do is the genuine sense of gratitude shown by the people I drive. My most rewarding response comes from “the little old lady with a large bag of shopping” The simple act of carrying the bag to their front door often meets with the reaction that you have given them the world.  Doing something for those who need a little bit of help gives me with a sense of usefulness.”
