Dial A Lift.

What is Dial A Lift?

A transport option for individuals living in rural areas who are unable to, or have difficulty accessing local basic services due to the lack of transport ( e.g. access to a car or public transport )

It can be used for a variety of purposes including:

  • Local shopping
  • Some local health services ( e.g. doctor, dentist, chiropodist, optician, health centre )
  • Local pharmacy
  • Post Office or banking
  • Training and/or local employment
  • Visiting friends and family

Dial a Lift cannot be used for:

  • Hospital inpatient appointments
  • Home to school transport

How can you avail of this service?

All you have to do is become a member. Becoming a Member is easy, and it’s free for individuals.

Assisted Travel

Assisted Rural Travel Scheme allows individual passengers with a current Smart Pass to travel free or for half fare on Dial – a – Lift Service. This service his funded by Department of Agriculture and Rural Development.
